With a profound dedication to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, mindfulness meditation and somatic movement, Christine Hearn empowers those struggling with mental health and/or substance use on their journey toward recovery.
After getting sober in 1989, Christine began her career as a substance abuse counselor in an outpatient setting. She brings more than 30 years experience as a group fitness and yoga instructor and 13 years experience teaching DBT skills in both residential and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta area.
In 2012, Christine had the rare opportunity to participate in an intensive DBT training in Washington state led by Dr. Marsha Linehan, the founder of DBT. This experience deepened her passion for helping individuals develop mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness to build a life worth living.
Outside of work, Christine enjoys working out, being outdoors, practicing wellness and spending time with her 3 adult children. She also hosts a weekly 12 step book club in her home, actively works with sponsees and volunteers in her home group.
