About Sam Bennett
Sam Bennett is one of our counselors at Emerge and our Operations Director. Fun is necessary during recovery and we love what we do, so Sam is the head honcho who keeps the rest of us in line. Sam joined the Emerge team in August of 2023 and has been active in recovery himself since 2019.
Sam is a self-described “foodie” and some of his favorite spots here in Alpharetta are between the Halcyon and Avalon. He’s also a competitive sand volleyball player and enjoys surfing, although there’s not much of that around here, so traveling makes his list too.
Sam Bennett's Education
Sam Bennett went to Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then continued his professional development by getting his CAC1 certification for work in the addiction treatment field.
Sam has training and experience in a range of addiction recovery techniques, including:
- Motivational Interviewing
- Peer Recovery Programs
Additional Information About Sam Bennett
In addition to working and volunteering in the Atlanta recovery community, Sam Bennett also serves monthly for a food bank at Chapelhill Church in South Atlanta.
Sam is deeply fascinated by the disease of addiction as well as the solution to treat it. True recovery is possible, and Sam believes Emerge Healing Center in Alpharetta is doing an amazing job of serving the people in this community.

“Working in this field was never in the plan for me. But ever since I started this work, doing anything else does not make sense. I work in this field because of how it changed my life, and seeing other people struggling in their darkness of addiction begin to find light and hope in what recovery offers is an absolutely amazing thing.”-Sam Bennett
