Erica Hamby, CACI
Erica is a passionate and empathetic Primary Therapist at Emerge Healing Center. She is a Certified Addictions Counselor Level 1 (CACI) through the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in General Psychology at Capella University. With plans to continue into a Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Erica intends to specialize in Addiction Treatment and Recovery to become a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the future.
Her dedication to this work is both professional and profoundly personal. Erica grew up in an environment impacted by addiction and, as an Adult Child of an Alcoholic (ACOA), experienced firsthand the emotional toll it can take. She also faced her own struggles with addiction and now celebrates over five years of sobriety through her ongoing work in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). In addition, Erica has undergone and overcome significant personal trauma, which deepened her understanding of the vital role trauma resolution therapy plays in the recovery process.
This lived experience allows Erica to meet clients with authenticity, compassion, and hope. She is committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing can begin and believes strongly in the power of connection, vulnerability, and resilience.
Outside of her work, Erica is a proud wife and mother of two. She enjoys reading, attending live music events and concerts, and baking for those she loves. Her personal and professional lives are both grounded in intention, healing, and purpose.
