At Emerge Healing Center, we provide outpatient treatment in Alpharetta, GA, for adults living with a substance use disorder, a mental health condition, or both at once. Before you call anyone about something this personal, you deserve to know who they are and how they work. Many of us on this team have walked the path of recovery ourselves, so we don’t just understand addiction and mental health struggles clinically; we understand what it takes to make that first call.
Our mission is simple: break through what’s holding you back, provide a safe place to heal, and help you build a life worth staying present for. We call it the Pursuit of Freedom.
At Emerge Healing Center, our co-founders, Rush Jolly and Joe Difabio, built this place out of love for the recovery community.
Rush was raised in Lawrenceville and has been in recovery since 2008. About opening our doors, he said: “I was terrified of taking this risk, but I was even more afraid of staying comfortable. Much like recovery, we have to get uncomfortable if we are going to live.” Joe has been in recovery since 2015 and has worked in the treatment field since 2018. He rose to regional director before co-founding our center, and he focuses on meeting people exactly where they are.
Joe grew up in Alpharetta. We sponsor an Atlanta men’s hockey team, and members of our staff coach a “learn to play” program for kids ages 6 to 10.
Our team integrates clinical, medical, and recovery professionals, from therapists and a medical director to case managers and intake staff. Many of us have lived experience with recovery. It’s part of why we show up for you the way we do.
Dr. James Craig has been our medical director since July 2022. He was a founding team member, helped design our clinical program, and oversees all biomedical care. He is board-certified in Family Medicine, certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and holds an MD from the Medical College of Georgia. Physician oversight from an addiction medicine specialist matters when substance use and a mental health condition overlap.
Jennifer Robinson, LMFT, our Executive Clinical Director, specializes in substance use, PTSD, and relationships affected by addiction and trauma. Her training includes the Gottman Method and Internal Family Systems, among many other approaches. She grew up here in Alpharetta.
Our primary therapists hold APC, MS, and CACII credentials, and a clinical support specialist works alongside them. We also have a dedicated DBT group facilitator and a yoga instructor on staff.
Trauma is often the root of addiction. So our clinicians begin by asking what happened to you and listening closely to the answer. Our integrated dual diagnosis program rests on trauma resolution, with co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions treated side by side.
At Emerge, your plan is built with you. It combines individual therapy and group sessions alongside mindfulness and movement practices, such as yoga and breathwork, that complement the clinical work. Our therapists draw on Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and 12-Step education, and we also offer Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT). When trauma or post-traumatic stress needs a focus of its own, our Trauma and PTSD Program gives it one.

How to get started
Our admissions team is available 24/7. You can call for yourself or for someone you love.
Most major private insurance plans may help cover care with us, and coverage depends on your plan. Our team reviews your benefits and walks you through your options. For a head start, you can verify your insurance online.
Next comes a thorough clinical assessment of your substance use, your mental health, and your history, including any trauma you choose to share. What we learn together shapes your personal treatment plan and the level of care you begin with.
Asking for help takes courage. At Emerge Healing Center, we start with one confidential conversation between you and our admissions team. You can ask anything you need to know before you decide what comes next. Contact us whenever you are ready, or start the admissions process online.
