Levels of Care

Finding the best treatment for yourself or a loved one can feel like a daunting task. Every individual is different, and situations vary greatly. Here we break down Georgia’s substance abuse and alcohol treatment options.

Detox

Detox is a vital and essential first step to sobriety, but complete recovery still requires treatment for addiction. Detoxification (detox) is the process of eliminating all traces of alcohol and/or drugs from the body while managing the symptoms of withdrawal.

Inpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab is a type of addiction treatment where patients reside at a facility 24 hours a day/7 days a week with supervised and highly structured care for drug and alcohol abuse. The average length of stay for inpatient rehab is 30 days, but more time may be needed for long-term recovery and to prevent relapse.

Outpatient

Emerge Healing Centers facility allows clients to cultivate healthy habits and coping mechanisms through individual therapeutic sessions and encourages individuals to build a solid foundation that includes a supportive network for life after treatment.

Emerge Healing Centers outpatient treatment offers similar programs to those at residential rehabs. They are delivered in a systematic way to help you get the highest quality of recovery care at various stages of treatment.

Treatment plans often include:

  • Medication-assisted therapy often referred to as MAT
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT
  • Family and couples counseling
  • Holistic healing methods
  • Job skills training
  • Educational training
  • 12-step programs
  • Relapse prevention plan

IOP

An IOP, or intensive outpatient program, allows you to live at home or in a sober living home while attending counseling and therapy sessions for a few hours on weekdays.

Emerge Healing Center’s intensive outpatient treatment allows you to remain anchored to your home and work. IOPs typically involve a minimum time commitment of 9 hours each week. While most IOPs will deliver 9 hours of treatment, the timing is variable, making this a highly flexible form of programming.

PHP

PHP is an abbreviation for a partial hospitalization program. This addiction treatment program is more intensive than IOP (intensive outpatient) but less than a complete inpatient or residential rehab. The word ‘hospitalization’ is used because the patient is under the care of a psychiatrist while in the program.

PHP is a day treatment level of care that is typically five days a week for four hours a day and includes group therapy, medication management, and some level of family work. If you have a good support system, stable housing, and haven’t been to addiction treatment before, Emerge Healing Centers PHP may be a good option.

Sober Living

Sober Living environments offer support after treatment and before returning to a less structured home life. Clients are often in the company of other recovering individuals. Sober living homes ensure you have a safe, structured, and supportive place to live in early recovery. They also provide a place to practice recovery skills. No matter how strong you feel in recovery, a stable, transitional place to live will help your chances of long-term success.
